Surfachem Deutschland, part of the Surfachem Group, is growing and looking for a new
Business Development Manager / Market Development Manager within the DACH region
(Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Dealing with clients in the Household, Industrial and
Institutional cleaning and care markets (HI&I) as well as industrial chemicals markets, you
will be responsible for hunting for new opportunities as well as for maintaining and
developing existing accounts.

You will be expected to attract, build and maintain business through effective promotion of
the company’s products and services and will be responsible for all marketing and sales
activities to maximise sales and margin performance across the account portfolio within the
area.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scout throughout the various industrials and verticals in the HI&I space
  • Build compelling value propositions together with the Marketing & Sales Director
  • Promote and develop the product range and services to all current and prospective customers within designated geographic/account responsibility.
  • Lead all price and service negotiations within agreed commercial parameters.
  • Prepare quotations/respond to price requests/respond to sample and information requests rapidly and comprehensively to create best customer impression.
  • Accurately document customer meetings and establish rigorous follow up mechanisms to maintain momentum and close sales deals.
  • Cooperate closely with the internal Customer Service department
  • Exceed agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales, gross margin and performance targets.


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Experience:

  • Business Development, Market Development, Key Account Management, Sales Account Management
  • Commercial or techno-commercial role in the B2B environment in the Personal Care, Cleaning or Chemical industry
  • Chemical industry/products/services
  • Bachelor or Master degree in Life Science, Chemistry or Business


Skills:

  • Several years of chemical/raw material sales experience
  • Excellent communication and relationship building
  • Marketing & commercial acumen
  • Negotiation
  • Organisation & Planning
  • Presentation skills
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel and Powerpoint mandatory, ERP/CRM is a plus)
  • Numeric agility
  • Driving Licence
