In recent years, there has been an increased interest in the potential and benefits of cold-processable emulsifiers and blends as cosmetics consumers demand more eco-friendly processes and products (Cosmetics & Toiletries).

What is Cold Processing?

Cold processing is a greener production method whereby cosmetics products can be emulsified at room temperature without the need to heat ingredients to degradation.

Heating water is not required for emulsification droplet formation. To put this into perspective, traditional methods involve heating water and oil phases to temperatures as high as 80-90°C for emulsifi­cation. There also is no requirement for a long cooling processes
